   Ashley M Smith is a 33-year-old artist, born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. She has studied fine arts and photography throughout her grade school and college years. In the realm of mediums, there isn’t one Ashley hasn’t at least attempted. From painting and drawing, to Polaroid Photography, to Block Carving, Ashley is consistently exploring new ways to visually express herself, and takes full advantage of all the possibilities the arts has to offer. Specializing in acrylic paints and inks, Ashley creates vibrant paintings depicting imaginative sea creatures, interesting animals, and inspiring images of nature both realistic and abstract. In addition to painting and drawing, Ashley enjoys experimenting with alternative processes such as; Polaroid image transfers, Cyanotypes, digital and film photography.  Ashley is an active member of The Chesapeake Bay Art Association, and is currently serving as the Secretary of the board. Ashley also serves as the Art Market Manager for the Old Beach Art Market on 19th st at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Ashley works out of her personal studio,  The Artery Studio Store, located in Virginia Beach, VA.
